Sebring, Florida -- Detectives have charged a man in connection with the death of his 2-year-old daughter who was found inside a hot car on Sept. 7.

Highlands County Sheriff's detectives say Amelia King was found unresponsive in her father's car that was parked outside their home in the 500 block of Ryan Road in the middle of the afternoon. Attempts to resuscitate the girl were unsuccessful and an autopsy revealed she died of heat stroke.

Following the autopsy results, police arrested Christopher Sneed King, 34, for Aggravated Manslaughter of a Child and Child Neglect resulting in Great Bodily Harm. He is currently being held without bond.
