Based on surveillance footage and the employee's account of what happened, the woman walked in first and handed the employee and demand note. The employee simply handed her back the note and denied her request. When the woman showed the employee a gun in her waistband, the employee still refused.

In the meantime, the man acted as a lookout and stood in the doorway. Both eventually fled empty-handed.

The sheriff's office says they believe the pair, between the ages of 20 and 30 years old, were also involved in a similar robbery on Aug. 29 at Thrifts and More Store at 6615 U.S. 19 in New Port Richey.

In that incident, the woman acted as a lookout while her partner threatened the clerk with a weapon. That time, they did get away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Anyone with any information about these two is asked to call Detective Dan Toner at 1-800-854-2862, ext. 7841.
