Sarasota, Florida -- A criminal with a lengthy arrest record was caught by police stealing from his own place of employmentearly Wednesday morning.
A Sarasota Sheriff's deputy on routine patrol around 4 a.m. on Barber Road noticed a suspicious vehicle behind Complete Aluminum and saw Travis King walking along the fence line. When the deputy pulled up to the truck, King tried to flee but was stopped.
Inside his truck, the deputy found several pieces of scrap and aluminum window frames in the back of the truck, along with a number of other pieces in the storage yard near the gate.
An employee of the business came, identified King as a fellow employee, and told the deputy the stolen items belonged to the business.
King, 28, has been charged with Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools and Violation of Probation. The sheriff's office says this is King's 25th arrest dating back to the age of 15.
