Venice, Florida -- A Venice man arrested for abusing an 11-year-old boy after school Tuesday night faces another child abuse charge against his 5-year-old brother.
Sarasota deputies say the mother of the victims called police on Edward Prall after she came home to find her 11-year-old had been assaulted by Prall. The mother then made a separate complaint to police about an incident that occurred on the same night involving her 5-year-old.
Her 5-year-old told her "Ed" slapped him in the face and choked him to the point where he nearly couldn't breathe, according to the arrest report. Authorities checked out the boy and found a red mark on the left side of his face from his ear to the corner of his mouth indicating he had been slapped. They also saw bruising on the left back side of his neck.
The boy told child protective agents about the incident and one of his siblings confirmed his story saying Ed smacked her brother because he peed his pants.
When he was interviewed by detectives, Prall told them he lost control. Prall has now been charged with two counts of Child Abuse.
