CLEARWATER, Florida --Deputies are working to identify a South Carolina man who was found in Allen's Creek off of U.S. Highway 19 on Sunday.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, two men fishing in the breek behind a small shopping center spotted the man struggling in the water. They told deputies he became unresponsive as they tried to rescue him. He was taken to Largo Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Deputies believe the man was from South Carolina and that he reportedly just moved to Pinellas County. He was 51 years old, and was wearing blue jean shorts.
