Tampa, Florida -- Hillsborough County Sheriff's detectives are searching for a man who stole approximately $10,000 worth of copper from a business complex on Nov. 11.

Investigators say the suspect rode up to the back of the business in the 5900 block of Hampton Oaks Parkway on a small BMX-style bicycle around 7:53 a.m.

He then cut the lock off the gate and went up the ladder to the roof of the business complex and removed approximately $10,000 worth of copper wiring.

He is described as a white male, 5'8" to 5'10", 145 pounds with a medium build and short hair. He was last seen wearing a light colored shirt or sweatshirt, blue jeans and white shoes.

Anyone with any information reference the suspect is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 247-8200 or anyone with any information regarding the identity and whereabouts of this suspect and who wants to be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477), report anonymously online at or text "CSTB plus your tip" to C-R-I-M-E-S (274637).
