Bozeman, MT (Sports Network) - Stacy Davis recorded a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds to push the Pepperdine Wave to a 76-66 decision over the Montana State Bobcats in a non-conference tilt at Worthington Arena.
Lorne Jackson chipped in 16 points and four assists for Pepperdine (4-2), which also received 14 points off the pine from Nikolas Skouen.
Montana State (1-4) was led by Xavier Blount, who finished with 19 points and six rebounds. Jamie Stewart added 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting off the bench. Antonio Biglow contributed eight points and seven assists as the Bobcats lost for the third time in a row.
The Wave came out of the gate in rhythm as they knocked down 46.7 percent of their field goal attempts, including 5-of-11 from three-point range before halftime. Montana State went into the intermission trailing 36-26 after converting only 32.9 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes.
Although the Bobcats heated up to shoot 46.9 percent from the field after the break, it was not enough as Pepperdine sank 11-of-15 attempts at the charity stripe to go along with a 56 percent connection rate on its field goals.
The Wave held a 39-30 advantage in the rebounding battle and outscored Montana State, 38-20, in the paint.
