Winter Haven, FL-- Police have arrested the second suspect in relation to an attack that happened in broad daylight at a local park late last month.
Reports say it was around 3 p.m. on November 23 when 15-year-old Nathaniel Shineak Murph and 17-year-old Chavez Vonshelton Childs, attacked another 17-year-old near the Lake Maude Nature Park.
The two teens approached the victim, who was there with a friend, punched him. Murph then reportedly threatened to shoot him with a gun pulled from his waistband, and Childs chimed in with the threats after Murph passed the gun over to him.
The teens did not shoot the boy, but reports say they did attempt to steal his cell phone and watch.
Police found and arrested Murph shortly after they received reports of the attack.
Though they issued a warrant for Childs' arrest, they did not arrest him until this past Wednesday, December 5, after receiving a tip regarding his whereabouts.
Officials charged both teens with multiple felonies, including Armed Robbery with Firearm, two counts of Aggravated Assault w/ Firearm, Possession of Firearm by Adjudicated Delinquent, Improper Exhibition of Firearm, Battery and Violation of Probation.
Because of the severity of the crimes and the felony charges, 10 News has decided to identify the minors allegedly responsible in this incident.
