BRADENTON, Florida -- A Bradenton man was arrested on attempted murder charges Friday after he smashed his car into a deputy's vehicle, according to Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Detectives were attempting to arrest the man, Jonathan Soloman, for a felony drug warrant when he reportedly tried to flee in his vehicle. After ramming the patrol car of Sgt. Pete Rampone, the sheriff's office says Soloman fled on foot and was captured a short time later.

Soloman is charged with attempted murder on a law enforcement officer, fleeing to elude, and resisting arrest.

Sgt. Rampone suffered minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital.
