The Saints won the coin toss and won the early advantage against the Buccaneers as they orchestrated a 74-yard opening touchdown drive in which quarterbackDrew Brees went 5 for 5 passing.

The Bucs appeared to have something goingon their second possession, until Josh Freeman threw his ninth interception of the season. The Jabari Greer pick-offledto a New Orleans field goal, as the Saints ended the first quarter with a 10-0 lead.

In the second quarter, bad went to worse for Freeman, tossing his second interception in the red zone. The Saints took the Bucs second turnover and turned in to seven points when Brees hit Darren Sproles for a 2-yard score.

The Saints weren't done. With nine seconds left before the half, Brees found Lance Moore for a touchdown. New Orleans took a 24-0 lead into half time.

The Bucs would try to pull out all the stops in the third quarter, including a fake punt direct snap to Keith Tandy. The Tandy first down kept the drive alive, but it quickly died when Freeman went deep intending to hit Dallas Clark, and instead Isa Abdul-Quddus caught the football.Thatgave the Saints their third interception of the game.

Brees drove New Orleans right back down the field, capping off their drive with a 34-yard touchdown toss to Joseph Morgan, making it 31-0. The Saints to that point turned three Freeman interceptions into 17 points.

The wheels fell off for Freeman in the fourth quarter, when he tossed his fourth interception of the game. He later fumbled on the next Bucs' possession. The Saints converted the turnovers in to 10 points as the Saints blewout the Bucs 41-0.

Freeman's five turnovers got him pulled in the fourth quarter. Dan Orlovsky took over completing 4 of 7 passes for 51 yards. The shutout is the first for the Buccaneers this season.
