After whetting truck lovers' appetites with this teaser photo of a headlamp earlier this year, GM will finally unveil their much anticipated 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 and 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 at a special event in Detroit on December 13th. These two vehicles represent GM's first truck redesigns in 7 years.
According to James Bell, Head of Consumer Affairs for General Motors, truck owners are unique: They test their vehicles to extremes that would shock car owners. Many of them are running businesses out of their vehicles during the week, and shuffling their families around in them on the weekend. "Don't let the work boots fool you," says Bell. "Truck buyers are among the most discerning and demanding in the business."
Bell provides a tour of the trucks, both inside and out, and reveal some of their unique design elements and state-of-the-art technologies, including their all-new, more fuel efficient engines, segment-exclusive "driver alert" safety technologies, infotainment and connectivity solutions and more versatile, comfortable interiors.
