MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Florida - A member of the 6th AirMobility Wing was killed Monday when an air refueling boom fell, hitting her in the torso.

Authorities say 29-year-old Staff Sgt. Emily Elizabeth Clayburn of Palatine Bridge, N.Y., was killed about 4:30 p.m. on Monday at the base.

The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner list the cause of death as blunt trauma.

Air refueling booms reportedly weigh over 2-thousand pounds.
