Land O' Lakes, Florida-- "It Just Takes One" -- this was Oakstead Elementary's slogan for their month-long reading campaign.

The program was designed to foster social, emotional and academic development in the students. Students hoped to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate than them, knowing that every book read, another book would be handed out to someone less fortunate.

Oakstead students read online and in class over7,000 books, shattering the initial goal of 1,000 books. The school partnered with the We Give Booksorganization and for every book read, an underprivileged child received a book.
