Palm Harbor, Florida -- "Kirby" is a 1-year-old, 35-lb terrier mix, who was rescued from a shelter that was closing in Alabama during the Suncoast Animal League's Pilots 'N Paws rescue on Feb 9.
"Kirby" still has a good amount of puppy energy so he'll need regular exercise and lots of play time with his new family. He would make a great jogging partner, Frisbee dog, agility dog, etc. He's so cheerful and carefree -- he actually looks like he's skipping when you take him out for a walk. He's sure to bring joy to his new family.
He's a fun, sweet boy who is crate trained and appears to have the general idea of house-training, but he still wants to "sign his name" on certain things that he likes. He was neutered recently, which should take away that urge soon.
He just needs someone to take the time to do some basic training with him because he spent too much of his young life in a shelter.
He's a great dog, who will be worth the effort! He gets along well with children and most other dogs.
