ST. PETERSBURG, Florida - Rats, rodent droppings, and no soap at sinks were some of the violations found recently at Gateway pizza and Pasta company in St. Petersburg.
A customer at the restaurant on 94th Avenue North complained to the state after she said she saw a rat run across the dining room.
The restaurant closed for half a day last week, and now they tell us everything is fine.
The shift manager, Gary, told 10 News they had a few minor problems, but they cleaned them up quickly. He said, "We have absolutely no issues, we have an excellent track record. We had one little problem and everything is fine now."
Gary would not let our cameras back in the kitchen to see if things were okay. He told us the rodent got in through a back door that was left open.
He says during the re-inspection the next morning, he was given the green light to reopen.
