Tampa, Florida -- Yessiel Hernandez is used to hitting the books and doesn't have time to search the sale racks to find that perfect dress that also fits her budget.
"Nothing really fit me and I didn't like any of the dresses," she said.
The Leto High School student has a date, but no dress for her senior prom, until now.
"They said prom is around the corner and we would like to help you pick out a dress."
With tags still on most of the dresses, this honor student had the first pick at dozens of brand-new prom gowns but these dresses are not from your average boutique, they're from the Salvation Army.
"We're upon that time right now and due to that, we've decided to give away a dress to a deserving young student," said Salvation Army Family Store Manager Chris Pluchino.
Over 300 beautiful gowns were donated to the Salvation Army for their dress donation drive that began last month. Local bridal shops teamed up and now anyone looking for a prom dress can shop here and at a huge discounted price.
"They're expensive brand-new dresses from bridal shops in the area and they will be offered at a 75% discount," said Pluchino.
After being pampered like a princess in all the prom-glitz and glamour, the 4.0 student found her perfect dress and it's for free, for all of her hard work.
"It was really hard because I was confused ... a lot of dresses," said the high school senior.
The Salvation Army wants to put more smiles on teen girls faces, hoping they'll find that perfect prom dress that's the right fit for their wallets.
"To see the smile on her face when she came in and was able to choose a beautiful dress...she's going to look fantastic for her prom," said Pluchino.
The Salvation Army's Prom & Bridal dress sale will continue this weekend at their store located at 13910 N. Nebraska Avenue in Tampa, but you better hurry before they're all gone.
