Hillsborough County, Florida -- A routine traffic stop turns into the arrest of a career criminal.
On March 16, Deputies of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office were conducting surveillance where they believed career criminal Mark Anthony Clem Jr. was staying.
Clem has been on the run from deputies on March 11, 2013 and had since been in hiding.
Reportedly, deputies observed a vehicle leaving the residence and then run a stop sign. As the deputy was attempting to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle pulled over and the suspect ran from the vehicle.
According to reports, another deputy was responding to the call when the suspect ran in front of the deputy's vehicle. The deputy took evasive action by swerving off of the roadway, but the suspect continued to run and was lightly struck by the deputy's vehicle.
The suspect complained of leg pain and is being transported to Tampa General Hospital to be medically cleared.
