Baltimore, Maryland - FBI agents are in the midst of a "suspicious death" investigation of a 64-year-old Virginia woman found dead inside her cabin aboard a cruise ship.

Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas was at at the tail end of a seven-night cruise in CocoCay, Bahamas when officials say the woman's husband found her body on Sunday, March 24.

Upon the ship's return to its Baltimore port Monday morning, FBI agents boarded the ship to conduct the investigation which is standard when there is "any kind of suspicious death on the high seas", according to Rich Wolf, a spokesman for the FBI's Baltimore field office.

Wolfsaid an autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause and manner of death and agents are interviewing the woman's husband.It is not known if her body suffered any kind of trauma.

Royal Carribbean released the following statement on the passenger's death:

"We extend our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the 62-year-old female guest from the United States who died while on board Enchantment of the Seas. On March 24, 2013, the guest was found by her husband deceased in their cabin.

As is our standard procedure, both the FBI and local law enforcement were notified. The FBI responded to the ship when it arrived in Baltimore, Maryland, on Monday, March 25. A member of our Care Team is providing support and assistance to her family."
