Winter Haven, Florida-- Winter Haven Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating an "armed and extremely dangerous" man, who they say fired gunshots at his step-children last week.

Richard Lowery, 41, of Bartow, was reportedly in the parking lot of theOak Crest apartments in Winter Haven around 7 p.m. last Friday when he approached his adult step-children and pulled out the gun.

After firing two shots, one into the air, and another into the ground, police say he sped away in a silver, four-door vehicle- possibly a Ford 500.

Though nobody was injured, police have a warrant out for Lowery's arrest for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of shooting a gun in a public place.

Lowery is reportedly 5'5", with a medium build and short black hair.

Police encourage anyone with information on Lowery's whereabouts to call Heartland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a CASH reward.
