Ogden, UT (Sports Network) - Davion Berry scored a game-high 27 points and also handed out 10 assists as the Weber State Wildcats registered an 83-74 win over the Golden Eagles of Oral Roberts as part of the quarterfinals of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament at the Dee Events Center.
Berry, who shot 4-of-7 behind the 3-point line, also pulled down six rebounds and made three steals for the Wildcats (29-6) in the victory. Kyle Tresnak and Scott Bamforth accounted for 19 and 18 points, respectively, the former clearing eight boards as well.
The Golden Eagles (20-15) were paced by Shawn Glover and Damen Bell-Holter with 19 points apiece, the latter shooting 7-of-8 from the field while also collecting eight rebounds for the visitors. Warren Niles shot just 5-of-18 from the floor, but still contributed with 18 points.
ORU led by a point early in the meeting, but the team ended up falling behind at the break, 34-31, while being outscored 15-0 behind the 3-point line in the first half.
In the second half Weber State made good on 55.6 percent from the floor, as well as 16-of-19 at the free-throw line, in order to claim the nine-point home win.
In addition to holding a 39-29 rebounding advantage, the Wildcats also outscored Oral Roberts at the free-throw line, 23-13.
These same two teams also met last month as part of the BracketBusters series in Tulsa, with the Wildcats putting up a 70-66 victory.
With the win this time around the Wildcats, who added to their single-season wins record, now move on to face Northern Iowa in the semifinals on Saturday night at the McLeod Center.
