Spring Hill, Florida-- A home invasion and shooting victim is lucky to be uninjured after he was robbed at gunpoint in his home, and later shot at after he followed the suspect's vehicle. Meanwhile, deputies say the suspect is still on the loose.

According to reports, the incident started shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Monday, April 1, when an unknown man barged into a Spring Haven apartment, pointed a gun at the man inside, stole cash from him and ran away.

Even though the victim waited minutes before looking outside, reports say he saw a dark-colored vehicle leaving the parking lot, and decided to follow it.

Several minutes went by before he spotted the suspect's vehicle near Statler Ave., and that's when, the victim says, he stopped behind the car and was shot at multiple times by someone inside.

The shots only hit his car, but reports the damage was significant enough to prevent the man from following as the suspect fled, yet again.

Officials say the suspect's vehicle was last seen in the area of Chadwick Ave. and Landover Blvd. in Spring Hill.

The investigation is active. 10 News will continue with updates as they become available.
