St. Petersburg, Florida -- The robber of a St. Pete Achieva Credit Union didn't get very far thanks to a brave witness who followed the man to a nearby motel where he was caught soon afterwards.

Authorities say it was just after 1:30 p.m. when 35-year-old Thor Ian Gensinger walked into the credit union off the 400 block of 62nd Ave. and handed a note demanding cash to the teller.

After receiving the money, Gensinger reportedly ran away, but was followed by a witness to the nearby El Patio Motel off 4th Street.

Officers found out what room he was staying in and he surrendered, but refused to give a statement upon arrest.
