Washington DC -- Five students from Bradenton's B.D. Gullet Elementaryhad a special treat Thursday afternoon: they got to meet First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House!

The students helped Mrs. Obama plant the White House Kitchen Garden.It's all part of the First Lady's healthier kids initiative.

Gullett Elementary uses gardening as a learning tool, teaching students about nutrition through planting, growing and even tasting vegetables.

This is the fifth year Mrs. Obama has planted the garden with school children.

Other schools that helped out this year are Arthur D. Healey School from Somerville, MA; Sarah Moore Greene Magnet Technology Academy from Knox County, TN; and Milton Elementary from Milton, VT.
