Palm Harbor, Florida -- Deputies are investigating a crash involving a motorcycle and an unmarked patrol car.
Around 12 in the morning on April 27, Deputy Travis Sibley was driving his unmarked patrol car on Alternate US 19. Martin McFadden was driving his motorcycle behind Deputy Sibley.
As Sibley slowed to make a U-turn, McFadden attempted to pass him by driving around the patrol car. This manuever resulted in McFadden striking the patrol car on the driver's side.
McFadden, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from his motorcycle and taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Deputy Sibley also went to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Alcohol does appear to be a factor in this case.
Charges are pending at this time.
