Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored the game-winning goal with 3:34 left to lead the Ottawa Senators past the Boston Bruins, 4-2, in the regular-season finale for both teams.
With the win, the Senators secured the seventh seed and the right to face the No. 2 Montreal Canadiens in the quarterfinal round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Erik Condra, Jared Cowen and Kyle Turris also scored for Ottawa, which finished the season with a 25-17-6 record. Robin Lehner made 34 saves in the win.
Rich Peverley and Dennis Seidenberg scored for the Bruins (28-14-6), who dropped to fourth place in the Eastern Conference. Boston will host the fourth-seeded Toronto Maple Leafs in the opening round of the playoffs.
Tuukka Rask made 18 saves in the setback.
