Tampa, Florida--Due to inclement weather conditions associated with Tropical Storm Andrea, The University of Tampa will close today, Thursday, June 6, 2013, at 4:30 p.m.
A release sent Thursday afternoon said all evening classes will be cancelled or conducted virtually, and rescheduled if necessary.
Students should expect to hear from their class instructors about any alternative arrangements or changes to the syllabus, though the university reps say this may not come until next week when the University re-opens.
UT will remain closed on Friday, June 7, since the campus does not host classes on Fridays during the summer anyway.
Aside from classes, school reps say essential services like Campus Safety, Residence Life, Facilities Management and Dining Services will be staffed. However, students should note that Dining Services will be closed Friday until dinner time.
Residential students are being advised to seek shelter in their residence halls and avoid unnecessary travel.
There are no scheduled co-curricular events or activities for the remainder of Thursday, and staff-members say they are urging any other on-campus activities to cancel.
Special events scheduled for Friday, June 7, and the weekend, will be held as planned.
