Eastbourne, England (Sports Network) - Second-seeded Frenchman Gilles Simon and veteran Spanish left-hander Feliciano Lopez secured berths in the championship match at the $625,000 Aegon International, a final grass-court Wimbledon tune-up.
The former top-10 star and currently 17th-ranked Simon dismissed seventh- seeded Italian Andreas Seppi 6-4, 6-3, while the grass-court-loving Lopez doused capable Croat Ivan Dodig 7-6 (7-3), 6-1 on Day 5 at Devonshire Park.
Seppi titled here two years ago and was last year's Eastbourne runner-up to since-retired American star Andy Roddick.
The 28-year-old Simon will appear in his 14th career final, going a stellar 10-3 in his previous title tilts. This will mark his first final of 2013 and his first-ever ATP finale on grass.
The 31-year-old Lopez is 2-6 in his career finals, with his last title coming in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2010. He was a runner-up in Memphis, Tenn., earlier this season. Saturday will also mark the 39th-ranked Lopez' first-ever grass-court ATP final.
Simon is 1-0 lifetime against Lopez, with the victory coming five years ago on a hardcourt in Rotterdam.
The 2013 Eastbourne champ will collect $113,000.
