This is Ms. Byrd, who is approx 3 yrs old, weighs about 50 lbs and looks like an English Setter/ Retriever mix. She was rescued from a shelter in AL, where she had spent 2 yrs of her life.

She really is a wonderful dog, who is sweet and very loving. She likes to snuggle and be brushed.

She is house trained and crate trained, is good with children and other dogs. We haven't tested her with cats yet, but given her personality, she should be fine. A fenced backyard will be a requirement for adoption.

Ms. Byrd has had a rough life and may have been abused by her original owner. She is scared of men and gets nervous when people are holding things in their hands. She is currently in a foster home, where she's learning to trust again. The family who adopts her will need to be gentle and patient, but she is worth all of the effort and will be a loyal, wonderful best friend.
Ms Byrd has been spayed, microchipped and is up-to-date on shots.

Ms. Byrd is still living with her foster family, so to make an appointment to meet her, please call the Suncoast Animal League office at 727-786-1330.
