Seffner, Florida -- Lawmakers want Floridians to recycle 75 percent of all of our waste by 2020. Right now, we recycle less than 50 percent. But a Florida-based company is ahead of the curve, recycling more than 87 percent!
That's why the state's Department of Environmental Protection recognized Rooms to Go for their phenomenal recycling efforts.
The company's president says they were going green before green was fashionable. That's because they created a $1million recycling plant in Lakeland which has expanded nationwide.
The state hopes more businesses will follow in Rooms to Go's footsteps and ramp up their recycling.
By the way, here in Hillsborough, the county ranks the third best in the state for their recycling efforts at 69 percent.
