St. Petersburg, Florida -- Just before the Rays left for their 10-game road trip, their prized phenom Wil Myers went 1-on-1 with 10 News Sports Anchor Dave Wirth.

Wil had just returned from spending the All Star Break with friends and family in his native North Carolina, playing golf and hanging out.

Wil said he's getting used to living in St. Petersburg.

"I haven't found the beach but I'm starting to find out where my favorite places are," Wil said. "My favorite places to eat... It's not hard to get around, I really like St. Pete a lot... It's big, but it's not that big... My three favorite places to go are Chick-fil-A, Subway, and Chipotle."

He told Dave there haven't been many instances of veterans taking advantage of the rookies.

"I haven't had anything yet, no hazing or anything like that... I had to sing one time, and that was it... I sang the national anthem."

Wil has gotten off to a .310 start, with 4 homers and 18 RBI, with a .460 slugging percentage.

"I didn't know what to think when I first got here, I didn't know what I was going to do," Wilsaid. "There are some differences from Triple A, but it's the same game I've been playing all my life... I didn't know if I was going to tear it up, or struggle right away... I got off to a pretty hot start, so I'm looking to improve on that in the second half."

He also said that Joe Maddon is the best manager he's ever played for.
