DUNEDIN, Florida -- A deadly crash shut down part of State Road 580 in Dunedin for about four hours on Sunday.

According to deputies with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, the driver of a Honda scooter was driving between stopped vehicles as he approached the intersection of SR 580 and Belcher Road. The driver, 57-year-old Gordon Haboush then traveled between the curb through lane and right turn only lane, pulling into the path of a Jeep Cherokee.

The jeep reportedly struck the scooter, trapping Haboush underneath. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the jeep was not injured in the crash.
