Evian-les-Bains, France (Sports Network) - The first round of the Evian Championship was suspended Thursday due to unplayable course conditions.
The start of the season's fifth and final major was delayed two hours due to heavy rain in the area. The tournament eventually began, but with water on the greens and the rain persisting, players were called back to the clubhouse less than an hour after the first group teed off. The first round was eventually suspended and scores from Thursday morning were wiped out.
Play will restart Friday at 1:45 a.m. ET, with officials planning to complete 18 holes on both Friday and Saturday and 36 holes Sunday.
