Tampa, Florida -- On Thursday night, residents will voice their opposition to City Council members and tell them why they don't want the superstore in their Seminole Heights neighborhood.

Residents received plan of the potential 121,000-square-foot Walmart back in March that will be built on vacant land at 1820 E. Hillsborough Avenue.

After receiving the papers, one residentwrote about it on theOfficial Unofficial Seminole Heights Blog, prompting a variety of reactions from residents.Someweresupportive of neighborhood development, while othersworried about the negativeimpact it could have on traffic andlocal businesses.

Last year, many neighbors were opposed to building a Family Dollar store in the same neighborhood.

A second public hearing will take place Oct. 3.
