Clearwater, Florida --Bay area patients with coronary artery disease are some of the first in the country to try out a small mesh tube designed to open clogged heart vessels and restore blood flow to the heart.

The Absorb tube eventually dissolves into the blood vessel instead of a metallic heart stent. Morton Plant Hospital is taking part in the trial. Neither the patient or the doctor will know if the patient is using the absorb tube for the research study.
