(News-Press.com) - There's more than coffee that's steaming hot at Baristas, a new drive-thru coffee shop in Cape Coral.

Baristas costumed in lingerie and sexy pajama wear opened the first Southwest Florida location for the Seattle-based coffee chain at 403 Cape Coral Parkway, and who knows what they will wear next.

The publicly-traded coffee company is known for its quality coffees and festively and scantily-dressed baristas, who might dress as a sultry nurse one day or a provocative referee the next. Grand opening festivities will continue tomorrow with a 6 a.m. baristas photo shoot, one of three local photo shoots for the brand's national Baristas calendar.

"We had a very busy morning, said CEO Barry Henthorn. "I think as soon as we walked out there on the sidewalk people started to come in. It's been better than most openings that we have."

The Cape Coral coffee shop, a former Farm Stores express, is owned by Baristas Coffee Co. Florida, a joint venture owned 51 percent by Baristas Coffee Co. a publically traded Nevada corporation and 49 percent by South Florida Coffee Company, of which Delray Beach Florida-based private equity investment firm Capital Consulting is a majority partner. The company also closed in August on a building for its second Cape Coral location, which is slated to open later at 3914 S. Del Prado Blvd.

"The quality of our coffee is the most important thing to us," he said. "But we also have a lot of fun in the way that we serve it."

Baristas can currently be found throughout greater Seattle as well as in Arizona, Florida, and Montana. For more information, visitbaristas.tv.

Weekdays days, Baristas will be open from 5 a.m.-7 p.m., then 5 a.m.-3 p.m. on the weekends, subject to change.
