Ray Childs found a surprise Sunday morning while cleaning the backyard of his home on Alley Avenue in Rochelle, Georgia.

Childs found a snake around 8 feet long stretched out on his lawn.

His niece, Selina Wallace told our content partners at13WMAZ that the snake didn't attack anyone. Childs was able to kill the snake using a stick that had a nail attached to it.

After he missed the snake's head on the first swing, the snake moved a little bit, but Childs was able to kill it on the second try. Childs then burned the snake and removed it from his yard.

Wallace sent us these two pictures of the snake. She says the family was surprised because they live in a residential neighborhood in Rochelle.
