CLEARWATER, Florida - Congressman Bill Young made his final journey home aboard an Air Force C-17 Monday.

The aircraft touched down around 4:15 p.m. at St. Pete Clearwater Airport, greeted by a contingent of military, law enforcement, and firefighters.

The congressman's flag draped casket was carried off by honor guards with a procession of friends and family escorting Young's body to the funeral home ahead of Wednesday's wake and a massive funeral service scheduled for Thursday afternoon.

A sanctuary seating 3,000, First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks will have overflow space available for an additional 1,200 people.

Local dignitaries, along with colleagues from the House and Senate, military officials, and the congressman's large group of friends and family are all expected. Tight security and road closures are also anticipated around the church Thursday as high profile VIPs, the Speaker of the House, and potentially even former presidents could be among those in attendance.
