New Port Richey, Florida -- After a workshop last month to discuss possibilities for road maintenance, improvement and future construction in Pasco County, the Board of County Commissioners requested that a combination of funding options be considered including a revisiting of a higher gas tax which was voted down in September.

In the meantime, funds are being taken from capital construction to go toward operations and maintenance so that exiting roads can be better cared for. Fourteen pending construction projects will be delayed as a result.

New construction project priorities will be visited again in 2014 after a funding plan has been decided upon.

If you have questions about road funding in Pasco County, you can submit those directly to the County Administrator's office by calling (727) 847-2411 ext. 8115. You can also continue to submit individual road concerns to roadwarrior@wtsp.com.
