Evan Chambers, a Pittsburgh Pirates' minor league baseball player who played ball at Lakeland High School passed away at the age of 24.

The Pirates drafted Chambers in 2009 in the 3rd round out of Hillsborough Community College. He has played in the Pirates' farm system since then, sitting out last season with a broken foot.

He was a .227 career hitter in five minor league seasons.

Evan Chambers passed away in his sleep, over the weekend.
