Tallahassee, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Okaro White scored 17 points to lead four players in double figures for Florida State as the Seminoles took down the Jacksonville State Gamecocks, 77-53, in a non-league contest at the Tucker Center.
White connected on 7-of-9 shots from the floor for Florida State (6-3). Boris Bojanovsky added 15 points and four blocks while Montay Brandon chipped in 14 points and Aaron Thomas tallied 12 points off the bench.
Teraes Clemmons finished with 14 points before fouling out and Avery Moore tacked on 10 for Jacksonville State (3-7).
In the first half the Seminoles hit on 54.2 percent of their shot attempts, including 5-of-12 from beyond the arc, to take a 37-22 lead at halftime. The Gamecocks were successful on just 37.5 percent of their field goal tries in the period.
The second half was more of the same as the Seminoles turned in a 55 percent shooting effort while limiting the Gamecocks to just 39.3 percent.
Florida State got 27 points off turnovers and also had a 28-18 scoring advantage in the paint.
