Clearwater, Florida -- A suspicious package was found aboard a PSTA bus at the Clearwater Mall Tuesday evening - and claimed by a passenger after the bomb squad arrived.

A driver noticed the package under a seat and notified the authorities. Police said the Tampa Bomb Squad was called to the scene as a precaution.

A 500-foot perimeter was established and traffic was routed within the area nearest Target where the bus was located.

Minutes later, the PSTA said a woman passenger called to report she accidentally left her package on the bus and wanted to claim it.

"She was asked to describe it, and the description matched the package on the vehicle," said Ron Shaw, spokesman for the Clearwater Police Department.

The package was returned to her, and the police and bomb squad left the scene.
