Pinellas Park, Florida -- A man who allegedly shot his mother's fiance and then himself New Year's Day died at Bayfront Hospital Thursday afternoon.
Pinellas Park Police say Anthony McClaney, 29, and his family were staying at the Town Place Suites Marriott Hotel after they were displaced from their Largo home due to a fire.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m., McClaney's mother told detectives Anthony walked into the bathroom and, a short time later, after she asked him what he was doing he came out and, without a word, pulled out a .38 revolver and shot her finace, Mitchell Arnold, in the face as he watched television.
He then turned to his mother and, while holding the revolver to his head, said, "I am going to meet Jesus Mama" and pulled the trigger.
Arnold was pronounced dead at the scene.
