Tampa, Florida -- Early Saturday morning a Hillsborough County deputy was hit by car violating the deputy's right of way.
Just before 4 a.m. on January 11, Deputy Wright was driving eastbound on Hillsborough Avenue West approaching Silvermill Drive. Russell Lunsford was driving a black Nissan eastbound on Hillsborough Avenue and violated the deputy's right of way by turning southbound in front of Deputy Wright's path.
The front of the Nissan struck the drivers side of the deputy's vehicle. Both the Wright and Lunsford were transported to St. Joseph's Hospital with non life threatening injuries to be medically evaluated.
