Tampa, Florida -- Pirate invasions sure leave a big mess.

That is why The Tampa Bay Green Consortium will conduct a Day-After Gasparilla cleanup along Bayshore Boulevard on Sunday, January 26.

This event started with 8 participants 4 years ago and has grown to a large scale annual litter removal event.

Volunteers will be responsible for cleaning the areas and side streets throughout Bayshore Blvd that will be used as both the float staging area and parade route, focusing on both trash and recyclable items.

Volunteers will meet at the signup tent located at the Tampa Garden Club at 2629 Bayshore Blvd. at 1 p.m. for orientation. The cleanup will last from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
