Pinellas County, Florida-- A four-day, undercover operation landed 35 men behind bars who allegedly wanted to have sex with children.
Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri and Clearwater Police Chief Anthony Holloway announced the results of "Operation Home Alone" late Monday afternoon.
Undercover agents posed as either children, or parents offering up their children to people in online chat rooms.
The suspects, who ranged in age from 19 to 65 years old, were arrested at various locations throughout Clearwater and North Pinellas County as they arrived to meet who they thought would be the underage kids.
"We're going to send one message out, and this is from me," said ClearwaterPolice Chief Anthony Holloway."If these predators are going to go after our children, we're going to do anything within our power to make sure we go after these predators."
Sheriff Bob Gualtieri commented on the operation as well, saying "We need to purge these people. This conduct has to stop and we're going to continue to dedicate as many resources as we have to to address this problem."
