St. Petersburg, Florida -- The mandatory boil water notice for Tierra Verde and Fort De Soto Park was lifted Monday evening.

Officials from Pinellas County extended the original notice after a potable water interruption, which took place the morning of Saturday, Feb. 1, affecting the southern end of Tierra Verde.

Residents of Tierra Verde south of Madonna Boulevard and all residents living alongthe Pinellas Bayway, including those living off of Sands Point Drive, were affected by the mandatory boil water notice.

Pinellas County says water samples have confirmed there is no contamination from a potable water supply pipe that broke along the Pinellas Bayway.

Pinellas County residents should run cold water through all plumbing fixtures for several minutes until water is clear.

Fort De Soto Park will reopen to the public with normal business hours on Tuesday, Feb. 4.
