Tampa, Florida -- Residents near the Citrus Park area are under a rabies alert after two raccoons tested positive for rabies in the past two months.

The Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough issued the alert for residents in the 33625 area code.

This alert will remain in effect for 60 days. The center of the alert will include the following area boundaries in Hillsborough County:

  • Gunn Hwy, North boundary
  • Veterans Expressway, East boundary
  • Gardner Road, South boundary
  • Sheldon Road, West boundary
