Myakka City, Florida --Deputies have confiscated eight horses from pieces of land in Myakka City owned by the same person under investigation for alleged animal abuse at a local sanctuary.

This comes after Manatee deputies raided Napier's Log Cabin Horse and Animal Sanctuary last week on State Road 64 near Lake Manatee State Park. Deputies rescued 300 animals said to be living in filthy conditions at the Manatee sanctuary.

They also found a shallow grave with the remains of several dogs.

The sheriff's office hasn't decided if it will charge the owners of Napier's with animal cruelty.
