Lake Thonotosassa -- One of the Bay area's largest homes is now considered one of the nation's best.
10 News got an exclusive tour inside Misión lago, the 23,000-square-foot estate owned by Tom and June Simpson last September. It features a home theater modeled after the historic Tampa Theatre, a 900-square-foot recreation of the Oval Office and its own Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Now Misión lago has earned top honors for one-of-a-kind homes at the International Builders Show in Las Vegas. It also won the design award for one-of-a-kind custom homes from Professional Builder magazine.
Misión lago was built by Tampa-based Sterling Bay Homes and took three years to complete.
