Tampa, Florida -- A check for nearly $5,000 was music to the ears of the Gasparilla Music Festival. 10 News presented the Gannett Foundation grant to the group on Friday. Gannett is the parent company of 10 News.
Carter Henderson, GMF Treasurer, says the money will be used to enhance the group's music programs for children. Not only are there a variety of kids programs at the music festival itself, the group helps provide instruments and lessons to Hillsborough Public Schools students.
The Gasparilla Music Festival runs March 8 and 9 in Tampa's Curtis Hixon Park. The festival has four stages and more than 60 acts will perform. For more information, click here.
